A Family Outing

Last Saturday Chis and I decided to take a little family outing and go to downtown Naperville to just walk around. However when we got there we discovered that it was Civil War Days at Napersettlement. So we decided to go. While we were there we got to meet President Lincoln.

While we were there we decided to visit the petting zoo that they had there. Cole was having some fun until the animals knocked him down.

All and all we had a great day as a family.

Things are looking up

First of all I am so sorry that I have posted a thing for a while now. The reason for this is because I have been sick for the past few months now. Yes, I know that is a long time to be sick, but I have a good reason. I am now 13 weeks pregnant!!! I feel so blessed to not only bring another spirit into this world, but I also feel blessed that I am feeling better now. last time it took me 20 weeks to stop throwing up. This time I feel great by 13 weeks. That means I have gained an extra 2 months of feeling great. Lets compare a few more things. last time I was in the ER I would say at least 15 times if not more. This time it was only 2 times. Last time I was admitted 3 times. This time not at all. Yep, things are most definitely looking up.

Hot Dog

Cole loves Mickey Mouse Club House. He will sit calmly and watch the show and then get supper excited during the Hot Dog dance. The characters each have their own special moves, but I think Cole's are the cutest by far!

Good Dragon Vs Bad Dragon

Night Fury
I have always thought of myself as a "Good Dragon" kind of person. You know like Night Fury from How to Train Your Dragon. The kind of person that will go out of their way to help another. A person that is good with kids. Yes I always thought I was a good dragon person, but today I was told otherwise by a two year old. I walked into the house and said "Hi." And that was all it took for this boy to break down and cry. He told me I was a "Bad Dragon". This was due to the fact that I am getting over a cold and my voice is a bit raspy. So I sound like a "Bad Dragon". That means I yell at people, I am mean, and I don't think of others, but worst of all I look like this...

Snowed in (Still)

After waking up yesterday to realize that we really were snowed in (and still are) we needed to come up with some fun things to do to celebrate Daddy's snow day. So how did we celebrate...

The first thing that we did was decide to go camping. Not outside of course, but in our basement. it was kinda hard to put up the tent, but with Daddy's little helper it was able to get done. After the tent was put up we had fun playing in the tent and watching movies.

After we set up our tent we had some lunch. We had some yummy mac and cheese, and some super yummy snowflakes. These snowflakes are made out of flour tortillas, butter, sugar, and cinnamon. So yummy!

After our naps we then decided to make a snow man. Not out of snow, but out of cotton balls. Cole mostly had fun playing with the glue.

Then last but not least after dinner Chris made cookies with Cole's help. Or more Chris was making cookies and Cole was trying to eat the dough. After all was said and done we had some yummy cookies and it was off to bed we went.

A Mommy Field Trip

On Monday a few of us decided to go to the Museum of Science and Industry or as Ben calls it "The Big Museum". We had so much fun playing together and learning new things. Us moms had fun talking and playing with our kids. There were so many things to do that we didn't get to everything and we tiered ourselves out. The next day I got sick, but at least we beat the storm and got to have fun before we were snowed in.

We loved learning about gravity.

And about all the different planets.
Lets not forget to act silly.

And to make music with the lights.

Learning about life on a farm.
Say Cheese!!!

Playing with water.

Running through a Mirror maze.
Taking turns driving a race car.
Spilling water.
Getting in and out of chairs.
Learning something new from our Moms.
Running away from Mommy.

Forgive the randomness of these photos. By the end of this post they didn't want to do what I wanted them to do. However we did have so much fun and can't wait to go somewhere else and have fun with our friends again!!

My New Love

Yes that is right I am now a proud owner of a Nikon SLR D3100. This makes me very happy. I was wanting to get a D5000 but when I went to get my camera, they were sold out, and not only that they have stopped making it. All in all I am very happy with it, and I love playing with the camera. Here are some of the very first photos on my camera. They may not be the best , but they were fun to take!

Again I have some catching up to do.

Let us start with Christmas. We had so much fun. We had family in town and enjoyed every moment with them. Christmas morning came and The Wise Men came and visited us. Cole got some little people toys, snow boots (that don't fit), a book, and a new Christmas ornament. I do have to say though that my favorite gift that we got this year was our marshmallow launchers. That's right. The war has begun.

Then for New years eve. Well we stayed up and had a Gilmore Girls marathon.

This past weekend Chris had a four day weekend. We were going to go apply for section 8 housing only to find out that IL in broke and can't afford to help people with that. So we took Cole to the Du Page Children Museum instead. He had a blast playing in the water, and just running around. I have come to conclusion that my best days are those that I get to see Cole very happy. I think the main thing that made him happy is that he got to spend the day with his Daddy. They love each other so much.

Yesterday we did our taxes. It is the one time each year that we are thankful that we are poor because we get the earned income credit. With that money I will be getting the camera that I want. We will be paying bills. and we will put money aside to go to our family reunion this year.

With my camera I am going to start practicing taking photos so that I can get into photography. I would love to get really good at it so that I can do something I love, stay home with Cole and earn some money to help us get really back on our feet. Or just on our feet. I don't think we ever were really on them. So in the near future I will asking for models to help me practice. So if you want to help me out just let me know.
